Here at Bird Watching magazine we want to encourage as many people as possible to see more birds than ever, and our #My200BirdYear does just that! You don’t need any fancy equipment, although a pair of binoculars does help, you can do it by yourself, with a friend or with a total stranger! You can do it in England, Wales or deep in the Amazon Rain forest. We’ll be providing help and advice in every issue of Bird Watching, there’s additional online content to steer you towards your target, and there’ll be regular Readers’ Days at which you can meet the BW team, get tips from them and reserve wardens, and add new species to your list at some of the UK’s best birding spots. We have a ready-made community on Facebook which you can join here and our sponsors will throw in competitions, discounts and expert advice to help you with your birding year.

It’s not a race, you may smash through your 200 goal or only do half - but the aim of your #My200BirdYear challenge is to do what you love to do most, birdwatching!

Delivery Information

Print magazine subscriptions will either start with the next available issue or the issue you selected at the checkout. Although we will do our utmost to ensure that your magazine is delivered at the same time it is available in the shops (or sooner) it is possible on some occasions it may be unavoidably delayed. If this is the case, we would ask that you please allow an extra 5 days for delivery before contacting us. Delivery of print magazines to subscribers outside of the UK takes up to 15 working days (excludes weekends and Public Holidays).

For a digital subscriptions, as soon as your subscription has been confirmed by an confirmation email, you will be able to access the latest issue. From that point onwards, you will receive all future issues as long as your subscription remains active. Please note that you will not be able to access any of the issues that came out prior to the start of your subscription.

Outside of the UK - Speed of delivery to subscribers outside the UK obviously depends on the quality of service provided by the various organizations along the way. The following airmail delivery times should be calculated from the date the magazine is published and are approximate: Delivery of print magazines to subscribers outside of the UK takes up to 15 working days (excludes weekends and Public Holidays)

If you purchase a subscription which has a gift included, please allow up to 28 days for delivery of the gift, which is sent under separate cover from the magazine. If you bought the subscription as a gift for someone else, any gifts will be delivered to you, the purchaser. We are currently unable to send gifts direct to the magazine recipient.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, if you have the email address of the recipient, we can send an e-card at the time of purchase or on a date of your choice. Please note that if your gift subscription comes with a welcome gift, the welcome gift will be sent to you to give to the recipient or to keep for yourself.

When you place your order, you will be able to choose the start issue of your subscription and the expected delivery date will be shown.

If you paid for your subscription as a one-off payment by using either your credit/debit card, PayPal or cheque we will send you a reminder before the end of your subscription. Whether you are taking a subscription out for yourself or as a gift, nothing will be sent to the recipient unless the subscription expires.

Please note if you pay by a recurring payment method such as Direct Debit, continuous credit card or recurring PayPal you do not need to renew your subscription as your contract will continue until you cancel it with ourselves and your bank.

Unfortunately due to logistics and costs it is not always possible to include the newsstand gift with the subscription issue. To compensate subscribers receive a discount price for their magazines over the year.
